8 Fall Outdoor Activities Everyone Should Try

The change of seasons is a welcome time that puts our minds into pre-vacation mode and awakens the desire for those old autumn traditions like warm fires, pumpkin pie and hay drives. The beauty and fun festivals of nature abound, giving every family a chance to celebrate the season. Check out this list of outdoor fall activities for inspiration.

1. Take a fall foliage boat tour

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you shouldn’t break out the boat for some serious foliage peek. Enjoy the warm, vibrant autumn colors from the water stage.

2. Enjoy a hike

The simplest fall outdoor activity may be just what you and your family need. Visit the mountains or a nearby park for a scenic stroll outdoors. Fresh air, time outdoors, and loved ones; the perfect ingredients for a magical day.

3. Visit a state or national park

The crowd has subsided now that school is back in class. Take a day to explore a state or national park near you. Make a road trip out of this and stop by the roadside at fall festivals along the way.

4. Go fishing

One of my favorite outdoor activities. Fall can be an incredible time to go fishing as it is also a transition season for many species of fish. Get your fishing license and go into the water.

5. Jump into a pile of leaves

All of the raking is worth it when you’re immersed in a bunch of red, yellow, and orange.

6. Go on a scavenger hunt

Make an autumn-themed scavengers list and dare to look for the items with the children. Fall outdoor activities that activate your mind can be an educational and fun experience.

7. Choose your pumpkins

Fall doesn’t officially begin until you’ve scoured the patch for your perfect pumpkins. This festive occasion offers the perfect fall family photo to frame the coat.

8. Go camping

Venture to your favorite campsite or set up camp in the back yard under the starry sky. Roast s’mores around the campfire, tell ghost stories and soak up the great outdoors.

There is no shortage of fun outdoor activities this fall! With all the fun things to do outside, gather your family together and go outside!
